The Mailbox, Show #24: Not Quite 72 Musicians
A little show with a big goal.
UPDATE - THE PLAYLIST
Welcome to a very special edition of The Mailbox—and this time by "special" I mean deeply personal. The music you're about to hear celebrates and pays tribute to just a handful of the bands and artists who were making music in Kansas City in and around 2005, which is when I was first properly introduced to the depth and quality of the sounds being created here. With the movie 72 Musicians allowing those who make music to tell their own stories, I thought I would take the opportunity tell my story through the songs being sung five years ago when my love of music was kicked into high gear—and remains there.

Music Review: Gabrielle Tee - Try Me
Impressive Piano-Driven Pop
On her debut album Try Me, Gabrielle Tee presents introspective lyrics and piano-driven song arrangements grounded in a contemporary pop vernacular that’s refreshing and void of cliché. She sings in a conversational, unguarded style that sparkles with natural charm. Her voice is youthful, earnest, and gentle enough to subtly encourage a listener to pay careful attention.
