Innovative Design & Marketing LLC, a Kansas City business planning and marketing consulting firm, presents its 2009 Second Annual Innovative Short Fiction Contest. The contest mission is to provide a creative outlet and an opportunity for competition and publication to area youth writers.
The 2008 First Annual Innovative Short Fiction Contest was announced to Park Hill School District high school students last Spring. Stories were judged on originality, structure & flow, and grammar. Thirty-one short fiction stories were submitted by students from Park Hill and Park Hill South high schools. First Place winner, Drew DeVine (Park Hill South High School), was awarded a cash prize for his story Samjana, Sankhara and Syrup as well as publication in the contest publication, Innovations, and on the Innovative Design & Marketing LLC web site. The contest’s 2nd Place winner, Alex Clippinger (Park Hill High School), and 3rd place winner Freshman, Katie Jones (Park Hill High School), also received cash prizes and publication.
This year’s 2009 Contest is open to home school kids of high school age in the Greater Kansas City Metro Area. Submissions must be received at Innovative Design & Marketing LLC by March 20, 2009 to be considered for the contest. As with last year’s contest, stories will be judged on originality, structure & flow, and grammar.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners.
All entrants will have the opportunity for publication on Innovative’s web site and on PresentMagazine.com!
The stories submitted to the 2008 contest are available in the contest publication, Innovations, with copies available at the Mid-Continent Library in Parkville, MO.
