Charles Brown (pictured above left) and Jakob Goldman, the savvy business partners behind PK Steel Furniture, have been designing and selling eco-friendly home furnishings backed by the inspiration of a local master welder PK. Brown discusses the origins of the company and why the furniture is built to last and is environmentally friendly.
PK Steel Furniture: Auction to Raise Funds
PK Steel Furniture is hosting a silent auction on September 5, 2008, where the company's entire inventory of earth-friendly modern furniture will be up for bid. It will be the first time that everything in their inventory will be in the same place at once.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Halo Foundation, a local foundation whose mission is "Helping Art Liberate Orphans." It will be a one-time extraordinary opportunity to acquire original high-end furniture at prices well below retail. There are two nights for patrons to preview the auction on September 3 and September 4, from 5-8 PM. The silent auction will occur on the Friday, September 5, from 5-10 PM at 1803 Wyandotte St. #103, Kansas City, Missouri. The auction will be held in the heart of the Crossroads Art District.
